30 Flemish students selected for ASEM Work Placement Programme

30 Flemish students selected for ASEM Work Placement Programme

The ASEM Work Placement Programme (ASEM WPP) was established for promoting the exchange of talent between Europe and Asia within the ASEM education process. Currently 2 European countries (Germany and Belgium (Flemish Community) and 3 Asian countries (Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Thailand) participate in this programme.

The programme in Flanders focuses on work placements for students enrolled in higher education (EQF-level 5, 6 or 7), who want to perform a work placement in Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia or Thailand.

Through an open call of applications, 30 students from 6 different University Colleges were selected for a work placement between 2 and 4 months in a Thai or Indonesian company. The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training provides a scholarship to these students to support their travel costs.

The Work Placement Programme hopes that more countries can contribute to the programme throught selecting, supporting and sponsoring students for a work expierence in the other continent.  More information about the call can be found on the ASEM WPP Website.
