ASEM Expert Group on Interregional Credit Transfer Mechanisms and Learning Outcome Systems meeting

ASEM Expert Group on Interregional Credit Transfer Mechanisms and Learning Outcome Systems meeting

18 representatives and experts from ASEM partner countries and stakeholders joined the meeting of the working group on interregional credit transfer mechanisms and learning outcome systems, in Cologne (Germany) on Tuesday 20th November.

The Expert group members peer reviewed templates of the compendium and discussed the future online format of the compendium. Another topic on the agenda of the work group has been grade conversion between Asian and European countries.

  • In August 2018, the template of the compendium has been sent out to all ASME countries in with the request to fill it in by October. A reminder has been sent out in September and a request has also been launched during the SOM1 meeting in Krems, Austria (16th – 17th October). The Expert group has now received templates from one third of all ASEM partner countries. Member countries soon receive a feedback from the Expert group in order to harmonize quantity and quality between each template.
  • The future online format has been discussed and will be developed for spring 2019. The experts underlined the need of the online format to be simple to access (user-friendly). Regular updates and follow-up should also be managed easily within the online format. The users should be able to compare different data by countries and technical topics. The online tool should also include an appropriate search engine as well as a highlighted glossary in the text.
  • The Expert group discussed how to facilitate grade conversion between Asian and European countries and explored the possibilities of future collaboration.

The online tool with the completed compendia will be presented at ASEMME7 in Romania, May 2019.
