The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has announced the publication of the conference report covering the input and results of the conference\u00a0‘ASEM Education in a Digital World: Bridging continents, connecting people’<\/strong>.<\/a>\u00a0The conference was held in November 2018 in Cologne, Germany. The publication includes an introduction to the ASEM Education Process as well as the selected research papers presented during the conference.<\/p>\n The report focuses on the\u00a0impact of digitalisation on educational cooperation<\/strong>\u00a0and emphasizes the opportunities for developing tangible and practical cooperation between Asia and Europe through digital means. The selected papers highlight the\u00a0challenges and opportunities of digitalisation in light of the four priority areas of the ASEM Education process<\/strong>: quality assurance and recognition; balanced mobility; cooperation of industry and universities and lifelong learning.<\/p>\n One of the core findings of the conference was that, in line with the\u00a0UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 \u2013 inclusive and equitable quality education<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 digital technologies provide a great basis for a\u00a0wider and more equal access to education.<\/strong>\u00a0Digitalisation offers tools to further connect Asia and Europe and to promote knowledge and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n
