Upcoming Call!<\/h3>\n

The second call for applications for ASEM-DUO Sweden mobility grants for the academic year 2020-2021 will be launched shortly.\u00a0Applications will be accepted from 31 August to 5 October 2020<\/strong>\u00a0(local Swedish time, GMT+1). Applications sent or posted after 5 October 2020 will not be accepted.<\/p>\n

The DUO-Sweden Fellowship Programme was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting exchanges of people between Sweden and 21 Asian countries (Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) on a balanced basis.<\/p>\n

In this respect, DUO-Sweden requires that a pair (two persons) of students be exchanged in an academic cooperative arrangement. Students are defined as follows: undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled in universities.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Eligibility\u00a0Criteria<\/h3>\n

Due to the\u00a0unique nature of\u00a0this\u00a0program, in\u00a0order\u00a0to\u00a0be\u00a0eligible, the\u00a0following\u00a0are\u00a0required:<\/p>\n

Your exchange\u00a0fulfils\u00a0all three requirements below:<\/p>\n

An educational institution in Sweden (home institution) and an educational institution in Asia (host institution) have established an academic cooperative agreement\/inter-institutional agreement;
\nThe Swedish home institution has selected an EU national student enrolled at the home institution to send to the Asian host institution, and such selection has been accepted by the Asian host institution;
\nThe\u00a0same\u00a0Asian host institution has\u00a0selected\u00a0an Asian\u00a0student\u00a0enrolled\u00a0at the host institution to\u00a0send\u00a0to the\u00a0Swedish\u00a0home institution, and\u00a0such\u00a0selection\u00a0has been\u00a0accepted\u00a0by the\u00a0same\u00a0Swedish\u00a0home institution.<\/p>\n

Duration and Amount of DUO-Sweden Fellowships<\/h3>\n

DUO-Sweden 2020\/2021\u00a0applies exclusively to\u00a0exchange projects\u00a0starting\u00a0from December 2020 and ending\u00a0before 1 January 2022<\/strong>.\u00a0DUO-Sweden 2020\/2021\u00a0selection\u00a0is made\u00a0only\u00a0once a year. In this respect, those who are planning\u00a0an\u00a0exchange\u00a0during the\u00a0Spring Semester 2022 (January-August 2022) shall apply for DUO-Sweden 2021\/2022.<\/p>\n

The duration of\u00a0fellowship\u00a0is\u00a0limited\u00a0to one\u00a0semester\u00a0(or 4\u00a0months,\u00a0whichever\u00a0comes\u00a0earlier). The\u00a0amount\u00a0of the\u00a0fellowships\u00a0is\u00a0standardized\u00a0as\u00a0follows:<\/p>\n

High-income countries:\u00a03,500 Euro\u00a0per student in a pair.
\nMiddle-\u00a0and\u00a0low-income\u00a0countries:\u00a04,000 Euro\u00a0per Asian student\u00a0and\u00a03,000 Euro\u00a0Swedish\u00a0student.
\nThe duration of exchange should be at least one semester and the scholarship is only available for those studying fulltime (minimum 24 ECTS\/16 weeks). Exchanges of less than one semester are not allowed. If a semester is longer than 4 months in the visiting institution, the fellowship will be awarded for 4 months.<\/p>\n

In the event that a student exchange lasts for a fewer number of weeks than granted, the scholarship will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis and repayment of the funds provided will be required.<\/p>\n
