{"id":649,"date":"2021-03-24T15:04:52","date_gmt":"2021-03-24T13:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asem-education.org\/?post_type=initiatives&#038;p=649"},"modified":"2024-02-12T13:05:33","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T11:05:33","slug":"102-spin-off-events-of-the-asef-rectors-conferences-and-students-forums","status":"publish","type":"initiatives","link":"https:\/\/asem-education.org\/initiatives\/102-spin-off-events-of-the-asef-rectors-conferences-and-students-forums\/","title":{"rendered":"ASEF Rectors&#8217; Conferences and Students Forums (ARC) and Spin-off events"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Description of the Project<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>The ASEF Rectors\u2019 Conference and Students\u2019 Forum (ARC) is the only bi-regional multi-stakeholder dialogue platform for university and student leaders, policy makers, and business representatives to discuss higher education challenges of mutual concern in Asia and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>ARC is recognised as the Official Dialogue Partner of the ASEM Education Ministers Meeting (ASEM ME). Its results, including policy recommendations and research, feed into the preparation of ASEM MEs. Moreover, ARC is contributing to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and it is one of the initial commitments to the Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).<\/p>\n<p>ARC takes place on a biennial basis alternating between Asia and Europe. Over 299 universities from 51 Asian and European countries have been represented at the ARC conferences since 2008.<\/p>\n<p><em>Below we focus on the&nbsp;<strong>ARC6, ARC7 and ARC8<\/strong>.
